After trying to keep up with all of the things, what can Pinterest really do for your wedding business? Well, friend. It is the best SEO tool that is the gift that keeps on giving. Well after you’re done putting in the time. It continues to drive traffic to your website. Not only that, it’s directing people who are in the researching phase of wedding planning. You are getting bride and grooms that HAVEN’T found all their vendors yet. That’s huge!

The first step to using Pinterest for your wedding business

If you are already using pinterest for you personally, you need to decide if your going to completely redo your account or start a new one. You need to have a business account with Pinterest and claim your website. You also need to put metadata on your website. The biggest reason is you need to have rich pins.

What are rich pins?

Rich pins basically means Pinterest is it’s a pin that has more information attached to it. Your business information, which is way more helpful getting pinners to YOU! The great part of rich pins, is if you are blogging and you ad an image, if a visitor from your site pins that image to Pinterest then that pin will contain what information you gave it when adding it to your site. For Example:

You see this image just as it is, but it has extra information that would show up if someone clicked the pin it button when you hover over the image, without me telling that person what to name the pin. I already did the legwork when I entered in the information as seen below.

Notice in the description of the pin, it is specific. It’s telling exactly what is in the picture. That’s great for any SEO. When someone is searching on Pinterest and they search custom beer mugs, I have a great chance of being found because that is in the data. This information doesn’t show under the picture when you put it on my blog. That is only where you see the caption box. To keep a nice clean blog, I almost always leave that empty. I try to put information in every description box though. Sometimes I’m not as detailed just because, when I’m entering in 300 images from a wedding it would be tedious to describe every little detail.

Tailwind and tailwind tribes for the win

I definitely am not on social media every day, despite what it looks like. To save my time and my sanity, I schedule that all out. My Pinterest pins and Instagram posts are set up ahead of time through Tailwind. I have two accounts, one for Pinterest and one for Instagram. Then I also use Tailwind Tribes and their communities to boost my pins. You find communities in the Tailwind Tribes that are sharing like pins. You share their pins and put your pins in the community to have others share so you get way more traffic. It’s a win-win because you want to be posting to Pinterest at least 4-10 times a day. That way you are sharing others content to help you reach that consistency.
